Kabardian wins in traditional Hubertus race in Poland
Kasia Kulikowska on Batraz, a 10 years old Kabardian gelding, has won a traditional Hubertus race in Poland. Batraz, from Ibragim Yaganov stable, spent 3 years in Poland and took part in numerous competitions in Europe. One of his best results was 2nd place in Championship of Poland 2004. In 2006 he was sold to Kasia Kulikowska, a private breeder from Krakow, Poland.
The Hubertus race is held in thousands of Polish stables each year, usually in October or November, and its main part is chasing one person with a "fox tail" attached to his arm. The race requires very good cooperation between horse and rider and perfect maneuverability. Whoever catches the "fox" and takes the tail, becomes "fox" next year.
